Kids, any fan of the show knew this week was going to be non-elimination, so there isn’t really that much to comment on. But judgments I have and I will save most of them for after the finale and my attendance at TARcon6. Lord knows there will be a lot to judge at that event. (Full Story)

Exclusive Aaron & Arianne "We'll Be The Judge Of That" Episode Ten (More)
As an avid traveler, I subscribe to many travel magazines. In the most recent issue of one of the best, it forecasted Sri Lanka as the next Bali. After reading the article, I remember thinking how much I wanted to travel to this beautiful and exotic island. It was only a week after receiving the magazine that the tsunamis hit, devastating the island nation. It’s a testament to the show that The Amazing Race also forecasted Sri Lanka and, amidst civil uncertainty, granted the racers, as well as millions of fans, the opportunity to experience this beautiful island. The impact of this episode was no Emmy ploy or sleazy Hollywood opportunity trying to take advantage of the “cause of the moment,” but rather the real power that travel evokes. The world is a magnificent and fragile place and to be able to experience it is one of man’s greatest gifts. The Amazing Race is not a great show because of these forgettable faces that win and lose, but because it brings the wonders of the world into our living room.

Kids, this isn’t going to be much of a judgment this week. I’m home with the flu and can barely bring myself to sit-up. I can also barely bring myself to care about the teams this season. Seeing as locations are so amazing on season six, it would have been nice to cast teams who weren’t so consistently underwhelming.

So, there they are helplessly paused through the holiday season until the new year where we find them equally as uninspired and boring as they were last year. I guess they want the money which is a crowd pleaser and a motivator.

I’ve got to be honest kids. The holidays have me in a daze. I am stressed out, running around like a maniac and have very little time for “extra-curricular” activities. I suppose that’s why I’m having difficulty writing a review this week. Although replete with my favorite city in Eastern Europe, Budapest, exciting challenges and twists and turns that all led up to a…GASP!…”to be continued” ending, the episode left me a little underwhelmed. So all I can tell you this week is what I know.

Exclusive Aaron & Arianne "We'll Be The Judge Of That" Episode Five (More)
This show has never been more difficult to judge. Previously on “The Amazing Race”, there was a balance between good and ugly. Funny sound bites, shocking behavior, beautiful scenery, and death-defying stunts all served as fodder for my easily made judgments. Now, I have nothing to go on. And I’m sorry CBS, but this episode was a complete snore. Granted, the opening moments at the slavery monument touched me a great deal. And then what happened? Let me think because the rest was so forgettable that I had no choice. I forgot.

Kids, it seems as if the execs at CBS are finally listening to me. (Because they weren’t when I wanted my own talk show or sit-com or crime drama or family values series). How nice to have a non-elimination round at the beginning when teams actually deserve a second chance. And there has never been a more deserving team more than Don and Mary Jean. These two seniors are the epitome of what good racing is all about and serve as an inspiration to us all that getting old can be fabulous. And that the retching and gagging sounds of someone vomiting is disgusting at any age.

Kids, it seems as if the past week or so has been all about letting go for me. I was away in Florida last week celebrating the holidays and a belated 30th Birthday with Arianne. While in Miami, our hotel room was burglarized and all of our stuff was taken. I’m talking about cute jeans, sexy shirts, t-shirts from abroad, jewelry, digital camera, my retainers! It has been difficult. I know it’s just stuff but it was mine and I want it. Bad. To make matters worse, I actually watched TAR last week and wrote one of my best judgments ever. Alas, I couldn’t e-mail it from the computer I was writing from because I didn’t have the password. Sometimes, luck is just not on your side and you have to let go. Believe me, anyone who has competed on TAR has had to deal with the difficult and frustrating prospect of letting go.

Kids, I’m away on vacation and have to admit that I missed the first 20 minutes of this weeks’ episode. I didn’t even know what country we were in until the pit stop at the end. But somehow it was still enough time for to make plenty of sweeping statements and nasty judgments.

Well, kids. Here I am. Back to comment for yet another season. Enemies I will make, truths I will tell, and due to the fact that Arianne is busy studying the law, judgments I will make alone. Fear not, she will be making the occasional appeaence.to lend her new legal expertise. And believe me, with the current motley crew of characters, there are plenty of laws being broken. The laws of attraction, fashion, style and social etiquette are just a few.
