As we started off this week’s episode, we finally got to watch the surf off between Vivian and Jenna.
Too bad Vivian wasn’t that excited, because it took her at least 15 of the 30 minute heat to get a wave. This proved to be too much as Vivian was eliminated. The girls then move into another competition. Danielle tells them it will be the first of two tries to make it into the finals. The girls go at it, but Mary and Molli are declared the winners. This means both girls have an automatic berth to the finals. The rest will battle it out later.
The girls were then driven to Northshore (where’s Sunny?) to their new house and a surprise. As the walk in the house, they see that the big surprise is someone waiting for them. Jen’s got her boyfriend waiting, as well as Heidi, who freaks over seeing her boyfriend. Jenna’s got a friend there, as well as Molli. April has no one, but she’s actually glad because there is no distraction there. Kula has a semi-boyfriend there, but se soon find out it’s not all that peachy there. While she appreciates what he has done for her, she has found out there is this whole life outside of him, and she says she doesn’t want to settle. After some more tears, he becomes an ex.
The girls head to the next competition, where Jen and Heidi will compete head to head, and Jenna, April and Kula will go at it. Before Jen and Heidi go out, Danielle has to remind Heidi that the boyfriend is supposed to help, not be a distraction. She vaguely hears her as she kisses face with her man. We then see Jen’s boyfriend pumping her up, as she talks about kicking Heidi’s (*@. The girls paddle out, and it is clear from the start that Jen is kicking Heidi. They come in, and even Heidi’s boyfriend is pissed at her performance. The long boards go out, and we see that April come out strong at first, then Jenna. Kula sits back at first, and then comes in with some huge waves. They come in, and the winner is not so clear. We listen to Danielle, who says that Jen did win the short board competition, and for the long boards, April was the winner, with Kula a second. So the twins are out. We see that the competition has now been set for next week. For one, I’m glad because both Heidi and Jenna were good surfers, but there was a huge distinction between those girls and the rest of the group.
