Road Rules Face-Off 2003
This episode continues the Road Rules face-off between Road Rules South Pacific and Road Rules Campus Crawl. During the two day event players must remain awake at all times and they must compete in challenges in order to win $12,000 dollars for their team.
In the traditional Road Rules fashion during the end of the series the current Road Rules team faces off against the pervious Road Rules team from the year before. Last week, Road Rules South Pacific edged out Campus Crawl by winning the first competition. Campus Crawl came back strong and tied the game with a win during a house- of -cards challenge.
The episode opens with the scored tied one-one. Jeremy and Raquel are relaxing together, is this really love? Raquel claims that she’s just using Jeremy in order for her team to gain an advantage. Jeremy seems to have fallen for Raquel; poor guy so naïve.
Twenty-Five hours into the event the sleep deprivation is catching up on people. The rules states that if a team catches a member of the opposing team with their eyes shut for more than five seconds that person is eliminated and may not take part in the rest of the game. It’s time for game 3, the teams were given the names of 30 past Road Rules contestants, both Road Rules teams take the same strategy of splitting up the names so only one person has to memorize 5 names. During the event, both teams seem to be having no trouble recalling their names, Dave recites his series to the camera saying “ill remember these names for the next ten years.” During the last few mins Campus Crawl seems to stumble while South Pacific finishes their list. Once Campus Crawl finishes the scores are tallied and South Pacific wins with 28 correct ans opposed to Campus Crawls 21. South Pacific takes the lead 3-2.
Back to Raquel and Jeremy cuddling on a hammock, “Why don’t you rest Jeremy, I’ll keep watch.“ says Raquel. Thankfully Jeremy catches on and finally beings do not trust her. Darrel from Campus Crawl is going “007” with the camera, peeking around corners and hiding in bushes. Darrel sees Jeremy with his head down on a bench and she sneaks up on him to film it. If Jeremy is caught for having his eyes shut for more than five seconds he’s out 1-2-3 a whistle rings off in the distance; Chris saves Jer by waking him up just in time.
Both teams are lurking with cameras Darrel for Campus Crawl and Jeremy for South Pacific. Jer and Darrel seem to have each caught an opposing team member sleeping. They turn in their tapes and the judges review them. Darrel’s tape of Dave sleeping isn’t valid because you cant see his eyes, but Jeremy’s of Sarah sleeping counts and she is eliminated from the competition.
The next challenge is the true test of strength..a spelling bee. That doesn’t seem hard , but if you haven’t slept in 43 hours the word “Battery” might not be as simple as you think. One by one players fall after missing their words, during the event Campus Crawl catches Chris sleeping and he is eliminated. The event comes down to Shane vs. Amy. May misspells “Cemetery” and gives the win to Campus Crawl. Game tied 2-2
The final event is a memory game in which the teams must recall certain facts about the past 48 hours. Questions such as “What color were the tattoo models underwear?” and “What Playstation game is on the beach with them?” In the end the score is Campus Crawl 4 correct, South Pacific 3.
Campus Crawl wins the game 3-2 and takes home $12,000 . South Pacific and only keep in mind that there’s always a next year.
