The more things change the more that stay the same...

Episode four reminded me of a trip to a local amusement park,"Wet and Wild" - lot's of fun on the water, and wild fun on the island.
Let's have a quick recap of episode three, which I missed thanks to an unpredictable schedule! Second dates: Jerome has a fight with the single guys, Kara and Jeff get closer, at bonfire Melissa gets really upset and gravitates towards Jerome, Jason gets more physical with the women, Mike is touching body parts now, Eric is holding steady, Anthony seems a bit loose and the single girls seem like they are at a high school competition fighting for the affections of Jason, Mike, Eric and Anthony.
Moving on the episode four. We get started with the girls going on third dates.
Kristen dates Derrick, stepping on Stephanie's toes, Stephanie dates Jeff, Melissa dates Sterling (why she didn't pick Jerome? who knows?), and Kara dates Guilio because she needs laughter not romance.
Kara's date with Guilio seems cool. It was on the water with lots of laughter which is just what she wanted.
Stephanie's date with Jeff (again on the water) I think these two may have found that magical "connection". They talk and talk and talk. The more they do, the more the find they have in common.
Kristen's date with Derrick is nice one which included horse back riding and a picnic. Kristen talks excessively the entire date and it seems like a one way conversation. Derrick won't be seeing the likes of her again.
Melissa's date is a banana boat ride with Sterling. No romance here, just a lot of advice giving from Sterling.
Bouncing over to the male camp - things are getting looser by the minute! Lot's of dancing, drinking, screaming and catty female competition for the committed guys affections. Mike and Tiffany seem to be getting very close. They talk a lot about "us" and don't mention the "girlfriend" on the other side of the island.
Anthony and Ashley have some serious flirtation going on. He seems very attracted to her so much so that they enjoy a little alone time in the hammock.
At the female camp two females must be voted off. Kristen and Melanie are the victims. They don't seem to mind however.
Over at the male camp, the committed ladies must choose to save the guy she thinks will give her answers. Jeff and Ryan are saved by Kara and Stephanie saves Ian and Derrick. Meanwhile Melissa saves Sterling and breaks down at the aspect of saving the troubled Jerome but after many many tears she keeps him! The other ladies are a bit dismayed.
Kristen has the honor of saving Guiles but votes off Chris. What a bummer.
The sun sets and it's time for bonfire. This time the men get a choice in the matter. Eric chooses not to view the video however Anthony does, but does not seem bothered unlike in the past. Jason takes a pass, but Mike doesn't but maybe he should have. What he saw made him very upset.
The women, however, don't get a choice! It's a MUST SEE video night!!!! ( I thought this was Fox)! The video gives the women a chance to see their boyfriend's partying "after hours".
Melissa is quite shaken and breaks down from what she sees. She even goes as far as to throw her necklace towards the fire. She doesn't want to wear it at present. Someone picks it up in case she changes her mind. She wants to see her boyfriend to tell him what a jerk he is, but didn't she tell him when this started to "follow his heart?"
In all the females seem a bit surprised at how much fun the boyfriends are having on the other side of the island.
I am not sure that any of them will find the answers they are seeking by getting into another relationship.
Next week the steam is on! |
