Well, this week’s episode has proven to be one of the better ones. Meena returns from NYU. Meena is one of the least active pledges, she is doing everything, and a trip to NYU probably didn’t help her, and I can’t remember her going to any of the events.

She really needs to get her priorities straight before she does something that’s going to take on such time like a Sorority. I have heard Meena claim that she wants to be apart of the sorority for the lifelong friends, but I don’t think she really knows what she got herself into. On a trip to a coffee shop Meena informs Janelle that she has been accepted to Harvard Medical School. Wow! That is a really great accomplishment, and Janelle appears to be more excited about her getting accepted then Meena is, but this adds another thing to Janelle, now that she has been accepted what is she going to do about the sorority now? Meena needs to really take something off her plate because eventually she is just going to break! Janelle also goes through the process of telling everyone that she has been accepted to Harvard. Haha, I find Janelle funny, and I think this part of the show really shows how close the pledges have really gotten and how much they really feel apart of each other.
Back at the house well the pledges are getting prepared for their meeting and quizzing each other about the questions that they will be asked at the meeting, Meena continues to claim that she is going to be more dedicated towards the sorority and will try her best to do more and more, but I really feel sorry for her, because by the previews we can tell that she isn’t going to last much longer in the sorority. Before the girls leave the house a few of the sisters greet them as they are trying to exit, and ask to have a meeting with Meena. The pledges wish Meena good luck, and leave to get to their meeting.
Val (The Coral-look alike pledge master) states the obvious to Meena. Meena has been to any of the events that are very important to the sisters and the bonding for the pledges, she also is very behind on her points, and the sisters have had some meetings and voted and have unanimously voted for Meena to be removed from the sorority. Lynnise (Meena’s big sister) really made me mad, because she put all of the blame on Meena! That Meena didn’t try to get to know her enough for her to feel a big sister-ness or whatever between them. Well, if you’re going to be her big sister, than you both should talk to each other, it shouldn’t be totally put on Meena. I felt this Sorority already had a bias against Meena. I mean, they didn’t give her any fair warning, and say that she should have known that she was behind. I think if any of the other pledges where in this situation they would have given them warnings, but from what I see nothing was done to warn Meena, she was just supposed to know, and I really don’t think that is cool on the sisters part. The sisters leave Meena at the house, and tell her to pack because she is going to have to move out of the house, and she is no longer a pledge
The sisters who where meeting with Meena, return to the Sorority House, and inform the pledge class that Meena has officially been de-pledged and is no longer a member of their pledge class. Lots of emotion is expressed during this period, most of the girls who live in the house are going “Oh, my, why? I can’t believe this” Yet, I’m sure the girls outside are going “There’s a Meena?” Well Carmen and Janelle both voice their opinions claiming that Meena deserved a warning, and that it was unfair, and she was just getting ready to fully dedicate herself to the sorority. The sisters stand firm in their decision and claim it was to late now. I respect the sisters standing by their decision, I don’t agree with their decision, but I think it would make me even madder if they had gone back on all that they had said and said that it was ok and welcome back Meena. That would have been shady. The sisters at the end of the meeting pop the question to the group to justify their reason for de-pledging Meena they ask the group “"Who has gotten to know Meena besides the ones that live in the pledge house?". None of them raise their hand, basically giving a resounding no. |
