Well, the first night of World Idol was interesting, if nothing else. I’m a little scared from watching it, but I made it through.

So we got to meet the two hosts, who were from the UK Pop Idol. My first thoughts there were WAY too much foreheads, but I moved on. They explained the format, and then introduced all the judges. It was the main one from each country there.

So first to sing was Alexander, from Germany. Not that impressed. He was a good singer, and I could so see him on a Broadway show, not an idol. The judges thought the same thing, as they trashed him. The Polish judge made no sense; he had written out things, and was a bit drunk through it all. Next was Guy Sebastian from Australia, who has bigger hair then Justin. This was the guy who was being heralded as Kelly’s competition, but he was just ok. Reminded me of one of the Backstreet boys. Then came Canada’s Idol, Ryan Malcom, and this was the first one I really wanted to hear. He has a beautiful voice, with a good tone, and I was impressed. His biggest problem is that he is going to blend in with about half of the idols there tonight.

Intermixed with all of this, we get to see Kelly’s comments about each singer, and of course, she is nothing but classy and cool. We also get to see a bit about each person and how they became the Idol from their own country. So next was Holland’s Jamai Loman, and let me say, you can tell Elton John is his idol. Apparently, he is known for this glasses, has about thirty pairs, and not known for his singing cause it was just bad. Now South Africa’s Heinz Winckler sang next, and before he even opened his mouth, my sister was in love—he is very much the pretty boy. And I was floored by his voice: not because it was bad, because he sounds like a perfect American country singer. Seriously, Heinz, you need to come to America and try out Nashville. With those looks and voice, you would make a killing.

Now our next singer was one I am still trying to block out of my life. Alex, from Poland. Now, most of these singers chose to sing in English, though it was not required. Alex was one you could tell struggled with the song, I don’t know how to love him, and it did nothing for her. And who ever did her makeover since the show needs to be shot. The best though, was the judges, because when she got to the Polish judge, who had been rude to everyone, she started fighting with him, in Polish. That was fun to watch, if nothing else.

I was so glad that Diana Karazon, the Pan Arab winner, sang next. She was the only contestant that chose to not sing in English, and I so applaud her for that. He voice floored me, and I really loved every minute, even though I didn’t understand it at all. She was good, and the first idol I can say did deserve to win her crown.
