Monday’s episode started alot like that of the last three-toasting of the departed. With the double elimination—it’s down to ten. With Heather and Daphna eliminated, the house is feeling empty—according to Marty. Mig doesn't want to mourn their loss—“they are going to make it big…something you have to come to grips with.”

At the same time, Jessica is feeling the pressure. She has made it through uncertain times twice and now she's singing for her life. Marty has a surprise visit from his sister Liz to add to his high of being asked for an encore. The visit led Mig to conclude that he is going to rehearse alot this week--if he gets a visit from family as a result. Marty’s sister brought a letter from home with her—giving Marty a new appreciation for his family and the recharge he needs to focus on the prize. He knows he’s auditioning to be a member of the band and a member of the INXS family.

This week’s clinic focused on vocals. Ron Anderson, one of world's top vocal coaches explained to the group that he was not here to change their voice, but to show them how to use their voices correctly. Jessica made a transformation. Her voice was night and day--amazing "almost like magic." Brandon found the clinic difficult because he likes where he's at and doesn't think he can change. Ron concluded that Brandon has a big range and the biggest voice out of them all—with his voice he can go places. To the surprise of many, Ty didn't go into vibrato like he normally does, while Deanna, has more problems than any other singer. Ron added that at age 35 and on, the voice would not regenerate. By the end of the clinic, Deanna’s feeling like damaged goods.

The song choices for this week are good ones. Mig zeroed in on “We Will Rock You,” while J.D continues playing games –this time with the number order. The Letter” he says is his number 2 but really it is his number 1 choice. His strategy so far is working well-- killing with kindness.

Jessica's choice of songs hasn't been the greatest and she is taking what she can get. With “Blister in the Sun” Jessica taking quite a risk, she’s scared it won't showcase her voice. Meanwhile, during rehearsal, Ty is feeling pressure—with the rehearsal band focusing on rhythm. Brandon feels like he has alot to loose—“the stakes are higher.” Paul Mirkovich, the band director feels that Brandon looses rhythm, “what he was told in clinic is what he needs to do, and he hasn't done it yet.”

Will the voice lessons pay off? Will Jessica's luck change? Tuesday will tell.
