As the Rookies finish celebrating another win, Cara and Susie have a different plan of winning up their sleeves. The duo approaches Jillian about an alliance where they would throw the guy missions for the Rookie team in exchange for the guys throwing the girl missions on the Veteran team. Jillian tells team captain Kina who is disgusted and calls a meeting with the rest of the team who is assigned to watch the girls’ actions at the next mission for possible sabotage.

The day’s mission involved using two teammates to push a pick-up truck across the beach—filled with the other teammates. On the way back, the flatbeds of the trucks were loaded with cinder blocks. Cara and Susie desperately wanted to push for the Rookie side, but they were not permitted to do so because of their alleged alliance. After a close race, the Rookies win, mostly because Ace did not know how to work the clutch on the Veteran side. At the gauntlet meeting that evening, Ace nominates himself into the gauntlet and must face Derrick.

While Derrick and Ace get pumped for the gauntlet, Cara and Susie are agitated with their team. Unknown to them, the rest of their team knows that they have plotted an alliance. During a difficult beach brawl, Derrick defeats Ace and remains the team captain. After the gauntlet, Cara and Susie call a team meeting to discuss why they have not received a fair chance and are stunned when Landon confronts them about their alliance. The two girls become extremely defensive—Susie even cries. The rest of their team does not believe them, the situation escalates, but goes unresolved.
