As Jillian divulges to Cara and Susie that she is responsible for catalyzing the alliance scandal on the Rookie team, Kina becomes increasingly agitated with the two schemers. Both admit on camera that an alliance was in the works with members from the Veteran team. The Veterans have a team meeting to discuss the matter and Brad vehemently denies any involvement in such bad practices.

Julie and Montana criticize Beth’s leadership skills. Beth, who is seen threatening her fellow teammates in the confessional, is beginning to live up to all the nasty things the Veterans say about her. The day’s mission is precarious race where a duo from each team must cross two ropes, suspended twenty feet in the air, while holding on to two smaller ropes. The race proves difficult, as mostly each pair falls into the water. The Rookies are able to move one duo across and win their third straight mission. Beth, the supposed to be fearless leader of the Veterans, chickens out of the mission and refuses to participate. Her team is enraged and is excited to see her enter the gauntlet. Montana is selected to join Beth in the reverse tug-of-war gauntlet where Beth easily pulverizes her. Her teammates openly express their disapproval that Beth is still the team leader while Beth refuses take any responsibility for her actions.
