Beth’s skills are put to the test when she and the rest of her Veteran teammates compete in an aquatic tug-of-war. During this special tug-of-war, each team is divided into two heats where one heat must support the other’s weight by pulling a rope. If the other’s weight is not supported, then they will easily fall into the water. The Veterans have no trouble competing in the mission; their knowledge of tug-of-war and their new ability to work well together helps them a great deal. The Rookies on the other hand have no strategy and have no idea how to win. The Veterans easily triumph and Kina is faced with a gauntlet. Deciding to compete against Cara is easy. The two engage in a Real World/Road Rules trivia game. Cara, whose fiery rhetoric in the confessional makes her seem like a force to be reckoned with, puts up a good fight but loses to Kina’s MTV savvy. Cara is forced to bid a tearful goodbye to the Gauntlet 2, and her newly found friendship with Susie.
