As the Rookies and Veterans party it up before the next mission, some teammates on both sides worry about going into the gauntlet. MJ worries that his team will select him to enter the gauntlet if they loose. Meanwhile. David gives Veteran Girls’ Captain Beth a pep talk before the mission. He admits that he does not trust Beth and he is not alone on this feeling.

The mission consist of an intricate tire course suspended in the air over water. The goal is to squirm through the tires as fast as possible—but with each successful passing through the tire course, it becomes increasingly difficult. One tire is removed after each triumphant completion. Many are able to ease through the course, although Beth, not to the surprise of her teammates, is not able to and falls to water, earning her team a zero. Rookie Boys’ Captain Alton also experiences hardship and falls to the water. At the conclusion of the mission, the Veterans’ speedy times compensate Beth’s lack of effort, guaranteeing them their second win in a row.

Alton must now face the fiery inferno against fellow Rookie Jeremy. The two compete in a ropes version of capture the flag, where Alton easily pulverizes Jeremy, sending him packing.
