As the each team enjoys yet another evening at the club, love blossoms among the group, especially between Alton and Jodi. Although both have just gotten out of long, sticky relationships, the prospects are looking good for the duo is noticeably smitten with one another. The mission consists of a large wooden pit which all members from each team must scale; whichever team has the quickest time and carries all the objects up wins. The Rookies smoothly climb the pit with ease, except for Landon who is the last to make it to the top. The Veterans have noticeably more trouble. The Rookies are lead to yet another victory and the Veterans are forced to vote off one of their guys. Derek is surprised when he sees that his fellow teammates have chosen Brad to face him in the gauntlet.

The gauntlet consists of a quiz where each player must know facts about current and past teammates. The names of each teammate are painted onto coconuts which the two must battle for. Although Brad is tough competition, Derek defeats him and remains captain.
