It’s a family first as Backstreet Boy Nick Carter brings together his younger brother, mega pop star Aaron, and their three sisters to live in one house and try to put a turbulent family history behind them. The Carter kids have been living disparate and disjointed lives, and Nick feels it's his job as the oldest of the five siblings to step up to the plate and bring them back together - with just the right combination of motivation, firm direction and brotherly love. Supporting each other as they pursue professional and personal dreams, the brothers and sisters are hoping to rediscover the strength of family as they launch their own lives in the new series “House of Carters,” premieres Monday, October 2nd, 2006 at 9/8c only on E!
Like fame, controversy has followed the Carters. Having their parents as managers led to a lot of turmoil in the Carter family and relationships within the family were severely strained. Aaron's widely publicized petition for legal emancipation from his mother made tabloid headlines, as did Robert and Jane Carter's divorce in 2004.
Ready to put the past behind him, Nick is at a turning point in his life. He remains busy with the Backstreet Boys, but Nick is also considering what lies beyond the boy band while simultaneously maintaining a successful solo career. Now Nick is assuming possibly his biggest responsibility ever by taking the helm of his family to assist his brother and sisters with their own careers and life aspirations.
At the same time, Aaron has big decisions to make as well. He has achieved his own celebrity, with numerous gold and platinum albums under his belt, and has been a popular staple of gossip columnists and celebrity magazines since his hit career began. However, he knows his image will have to change if he is to make the successful leap from teen sensation to adult recording star.
Nick and Aaron’s sisters, Leslie, Angel and Bobbie Jean, have distinct and often outrageous personalities, individual career ambitions and an assortment of challenges to face. Like her brothers, Leslie is a singer, and has been living in Toronto with her boyfriend, the drummer for her band. When Leslie leaves Canada to move in with her brothers and sisters, it will be the first time she has seen some of them in years. Angel is Aaron's twin sister and best friend who has, most recently, been living in Florida. Not to be overshadowed by her twin, Angel is starting a modeling career and has big plans for herself when she moves to the west coast. Bobbie Jean is the oldest Carter sister. She does not know what she wants from life, but knows that show biz is not for her. A culinary career has grabbed her interest lately and, while she might find a great school to attend, getting to classes will be a whole different story.
Kenneth Crear and Johnny Wright of Wright Crear Management, J.T. Taylor (Executive Producer/"The Osbournes"/MTV) and Rob Lee (Executive Producer/"Blow Out"/Bravo) are executive producers of the series. |
