A few weeks ago, the girls had an acting challenge and, as Dionne pointed out, Brittany learned her lines backwards and forwards. But when it came time for the Aussie commercial, she suddenly had a short-term memory problem. And, apparently, a reading problem too, since the cue cards were right there to assist her. Renee thinks Brit is using her short-term memory loss as a crutch and, gasp, thought it was unfair that Jael went home before Brittany. Bottom line: the girls believe that Brit is a liar who is full of excuses.

But there are more important things to worry about, for now. It’s time for the girls’ go-sees. They meet at an Australian modeling agency and get their instructions from Priscilla, the owner, on the importance of being a chameleon for the designers—personality, portfolio, and runway will get them jobs. As always, the girls are required to be back by a certain time or they are disqualified from the challenge.
Jaslene aimed to be calm, cool, and collected and impressed the designers with her youth and personality. Natasha was ready to bring sexy back and but some of the folks at the go-sees were turned off by her sexuality and flirtatiousness. Guess she can’t help that those lips automatically put her in a certain category. Renee seemed to be doing fine though some designers felt she had too hard of a look. She tried to get a few extra points by sneaking a couple pics of her son into her portfolio—she heard that one of the designers had just had a baby. It certainly didn’t hurt her cause.
Dionne was bubbly and confident and the designers liked her. However, my mouth dropped open when she said she wanted to keep the swimsuit she donned at her first go-see. And the designers actually gave it to her! So, I’m horrified that she would have the nerve to do such a thing, but she’s not done yet. At her second go-see, Dionne asked to keep the top she had on … and they said yes! At the third go-see, she asked, “Can I keep them?” referring to the shoes she was wearing. Un-freaking-believable. One designer said, “I thought I was going to see that [dress] hanging out of the back of your pocket,” when she came out of the dressing room. At the fourth go-see, Dionne asked for something again. They told her she can go to the store and buy it.
And then there’s Brittany who, I’m certain now, is just dumb. She couldn’t tell the difference between the numbers 13 and 15 and kept ringing the bell at the wrong building. Once she finally made it into the go-see, her runway walk bombed. She’s worse than a duck, flailing all over the place. “It’s like her whole brain is trying to work out how to walk,” one designer said. Brittany didn’t care. She said, “I guess there’s a lot of pressure but I don’t really feel it. One designer doesn’t like you, it’s not the end of the world.” Well it could be, Brittany … it could be. After getting confused with the buttons in the elevator, she managed to appear at another go-see where she didn’t score any points for personality. She was sitting there, smiling like a psycho, incapable of making small talk. |
