Seven strangers, in Hollywood, one house, alcohol, raging hormones, big personalities, and even bigger drama (how’s that for a synopsis?). Tomorrow night (April 16) all of it combines when The Real World: Hollywood premieres on MTV at 10 PM ET/PT. If you’re like me, I couldn’t wait for the premiere. I recently caught up with Sarah and asked her about everything, from her Hollywood experience, to what she thinks about her now former roommates.

Self described as a quirky young woman, she considers herself both really passionate and ambitious. She is a Christian and a democrat, a pair she thinks is rare. She says she loves her family and her man. She hopes to become a broadcast journalist, but in the meantime is finding out a lot about herself, her faith, and her relationships. Tomorrow these three things will be tested more than ever when we see her experience play out in The Real World.
Did you watch the Real World before you applied? What made you apply?
You would have to be living in a hole to not have heard of “The Real World,” but honestly, I had never seen a full episode. I was at the Tempe Music Festival near campus with my friend Jackie, and we decided to go to an open casting call they had. On the application, I'm pretty sure I put something like - I actually have half a brain, so I don't think you'll be interested! Little did I know...
If you could have been on any other season of The Real World besides the Hollywood edition, which would it have been and why?
Well, like I said, I haven't been an avid RW watcher, but based on city alone, I would love to travel to London or Paris.
How has your life changed, already, even though your season hasn't aired yet?
Good question! I basically had my life planned out, and this really threw a kink into it, which is fun because it's unpredictable. I've also had to come to terms with the fact that a whole lot of people are going to see me at my worst. Filming was really difficult for me, but through it, I rediscovered my faith in God. So I guess it's true when they say there's a reason for everything.
What was your first impression of Hollywood when you arrived?
Fake, fake, fake! Fake boobs, fake tans, fake hair. So, you know, not that different than ASU.
What was the most challenging thing for you being on The Real World?
EVERY DAY. Haha. The whole thing was a big challenge. I had never lived with roommates before, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it could be as hard as it was.
